About Chef Kevin Templeton

Chef Kevin is the executive chef of the Verant Group including, barleymash, the Smoking Gun, and Spill the Beans. When Kevin isn’t in the kitchen, you can find him delivering 700 pounds of compost each week to Olivewood Gardens or teaching the benefits of composting. On his time off, you can also find him tuning up his guitar as the bassist for his heavy metal band or camping in the desert.

“I hope to leave a strong impact on the San Diego culinary scene—not only with my food but also with the little things I have done to reduce our carbon footprint,” says Templeton. “We still have such a long way to go, but hopefully I can and have inspired some people to make different choices that impact our planet in a positive manner.”
