When local chocolatier Kathryn Rogers, founder of Maya Moon, couldn’t find decadent treats made from high-quality ingredients and zero refined sugars, she began to experiment on her own, crafting beautiful honey-sweetened chocolate truffles with mindfulness towards working with farmers and beekeepers that focus on sustainable and organic practices.

At ECOLIFE Conservation, everything revolves around changing how the world grows, distributes and cooks food. In Mexico, they’re building life-saving stoves in the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve to reduce deforestation and eliminate smoke from people’s homes. In the US, they design and build aquaponics systems to help anyone, anywhere grow healthy produce with 90% less water and land. The organization’s work builds on the understanding that food supply chains and food systems are critical to feeding more people equitably and sustainably.

Needless to say, when these two organizations found one another, it was a partnership made in heaven.

This Valentine’s Day, Maya Moon is offering a beautifully packaged selection of truffles that will feature a variety of Maya Moon classics along with the debut of the new Ugandan coffee-accented ECOLIFE truffle.

Additionally, they will be offering a special in which the same selection is matched with a range of wines handpicked for perfect pairing and tasting and delivered to your door (21+ in San Diego only, and quantities are limited).

With either of these purchases, you will receive access to the Maya Moon and ECOLIFE Zoom event that will be held live on Feb. 11, 3:30pm PST, featuring a guided tasting by Maya Moon founder Kathryn Rogers along with a talk and Q&A about ECOLIFE’s lifesaving conservation programs from ECOLIFE’s Connor Leone.

The working matchup is looking for long-term love here, as Maya Moon will continue to carry the ECOLIFE truffle in months to come, dedicating a portion of proceeds to ECOLIFE’s work around the world. Join the follow-up event, a guided meditation on Feb.14 at 9am.

When visionaries with the same core values come together to support one another, beautiful things happen. Happy Valentine’s Day, and thank you for taking part in the sweetness of essential conservation work.
