Canyon View Farms LLC was founded in 2019 by Juan Villegas with the purpose to produce local fresh fruits and vegetables.

Villegas started this project after graduating from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and working for different farmers and experiencing different methods of farming. The business is a reflection of this experience with the intention to connect the community with their local farmers.

Today, Villegas leases a one-acre farm where he produces row crops like lettuce, broccoli, carrots, snow peas, tomatoes, strawberries, and pepper. “I am working on growing some of these vegetables year-round and incorporating new crops every week to have something different for the farmer's market,” says Villegas.

“In addition, my parents have a small 5-acre farm with avocado, citrus, and other fruit trees.” Villegas shares. “ We grow several different varieties of avocados such as Reed, Zutano, Bacon, Lamb Hass, Hass, and Mexicola. Our citrus trees include mandarins, grapefruit, oranges, lemons, and limes. Cherimoya, dragon fruit, mangos, pomegranates, macadamia, persimmons, and mulberries are some of our specialty trees.”

Villegas also collaborates with other farmers from the community. He explains, “My vision is to increase biodiversity, sustainable farming methods, and quality produce. At the same time, we strive to reduce three things: food waste, carbon footprint, and natural resources. My goal is to farm for the local community.”
