The first-ever Cook the Cover winner featured on issue 71 was this Onion Pie recipe submitted by Amy Cunningham, a family-favorite recipe passed down from her mother-in-law, Florence Cunningham. Recipe tested by Keith Lord and photographed by Haley Hazell for Edible San Diego.

See submission form for guidelines. The deadline to enter is May 31, 2024. A team of local guest chef judges will select entries for editorial inclusion and choose the cover. Three finalist recipes will be tested, styled, and photographed for publication in Edible San Diego magazine and on ediblesandiego.com.  Selected submissions will be notified June 2024, and the cover winner will be revealed upon publication of issue 75 , Sep. 1, 2024.
